At the League, we’re here for our member cities, towns and villages. We’re here to listen and implement the programming that you need.
Our services, priorities, and even vision for the future are all in response to what cities and towns tell us they need from us. That’s why more than 30 years ago, the League developed a way to provide insurance coverage for local government agencies.
Our insurance pools are self-funded and member-governed so we are 100% committed to providing the insurance coverage options that North Carolina’s local government entities need.
Members may join any of the three insurance pools: Health Benefits Trust, Property & Casualty Trust, and the Workers' Compensation Trust. Each of our pools and our Risk Management Services offer a variety of customizable products to meet your municipality's needs.
Risk Management Services
Do you want to improve your accident record and avoid lawsuits?
What organization doesn't want to reduce their risk of accidents and lawsuits? At the League, we are committed to helping our members protect themselves and take proactive steps to reduce their risk exposures. We maintain a team of professional risk management and employee safety consultants for the benefit of participants in either the Workers’ Compensation or Property and Casualty Trusts.
Our team of highly-trained field services consultants work with members one-on-one to provide extensive training programs and assist in the development of safety programs specifically designed for municipalities. They also conduct hazard identification and property surveys and in-depth risk control program evaluation assessments.
